Solving Issues of Cities and Citizens through Big Data and Digital Technology
Smart City
都市の持続可能性をテーマに研究を行っています。特に近年、デジタル化やIoT、AIなどの技術をまちづくりに取り入れる、スマートシティの取り組みが加速しています。エネルギー需給から交通、物流に至るまで、都市の多様な課題を革新的かつクリエイティブに解決しようとしています。これらを推進する手法を探るとともに、新たに生じる課題の解決に挑みます。またスマートシティの構築には、生活者からもたらされるビッグデータが必要です。データ取得に不可欠な市民の理解と参加を促す手法も、同時に模索しています。
I have been studying on urban sustainability. Recently, smart city initiatives have accelerated, which introduce technologies such as digitization, IoT, and AI into community development. Smart cities seek innovative and creative solutions to various urban issues, from energy supply and demand to transportation and logistics. I explore methods to promote these initiatives and try to solve new issues. Construction of smart city needs Big Data from its inhabitants. I also explore methods to promote understanding and participation of citizens, which are indispensable for data collection.

スマートシティでは、Mobitlity as a Service（MaaS）のように、他の産業との連携が必要なサービスや新事業の展開が予測されます。こうしたニーズに対応する新たなビジネスモデルの構築に貢献します。
保健医療業界
IoTやAIの導入によるデジタルヘルスケアサービスの提供に向け、仕組みの構築と課題解決に貢献します。
Governmental Organizations
Solve issues with utilising Big Data provided by daily life and market in order to promote smart city and its policy and contributing to policy implementation. Measure, evaluate, and verify social outcomes.
Real Estate Development, Logistics and Transportation Industry
Support creation of business plans of sustainable urban development, their implementation, measurement and evaluation of output, and verification using Big Data.
Automobile Industry
In smart cities, services and new businesses that require collaboration with other industries, such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS), are expected to flourish. Will contribute to the creation of new business models to meet these needs.
Healthcare Industry
Will contribute to establish systems and to solve problems for the provision of digital healthcare services through the introduction of IoT and AI.

Improving Quality of Life of Citizens and Communities through Evidence-Based Policymaking Using Big Data
Focusing on “Sports” and Applying It to Public Policy
オリンピックやワールドカップなどの大規模なスポーツイベントは、経済活動や地域を活性化させます。また、コミュニティ内の差別の撤廃や犯罪の抑止といった社会的なインパクトも生み出されます。さらにスポーツイベントや活動に参加することで、個々人の生活習慣の改善や健康増進効果も期待できます。こうしたスポーツの持つ性質を利用し、スポーツを通じて得られるさまざまなビッグデータを活用して、保健医療や教育分野などの政策形成に役立てようとしています。
Mega sport events like the Olympic Games and the World Cup stimulate economic activity and territory. They also create social impacts, such as eliminating discrimination and deterring crime within communities. Furthermore, participation in sport events and activities can lead to improve individual lifestyles and promote health. By taking advantage of these characteristics of sports, I am trying to utilize various Big Data collected through sports for policymaking in the fields of healthcare and education.

スポーツイベントの開催時などに収集できるビッグデータを、予防医療政策に活用。その過程で生じる課題の解決から、成果の測定と評価、検証までを一貫して行います。

上記ビッグデータを元に、ビジネスプランの作成や実施に貢献するとともに、当該ビジネスプランによる経済効果を測定・評価し、検証します。
保健医療・保険業界
デジタルヘルスケアサービスの向上に、ビッグデータの活用が期待されます。
運輸・サービス業界
大量の物資や人の流入が予測されるスポーツイベントでは、蓄積されたビッグデータを活用することで、運輸効率やサービスの向上が期待されます。
Governmental Organizations
Big Data collected on the occasion of sport events can be utilized for preventive healthcare policy. Help carrying out the whole process from problem solving in the process to measuring, evaluating, and verifying the outcomes.
Sports Industry
Based on the above mentioned Big Data, will contribute to create and implement business plans, as well as to measure, evaluate, and verify the economic effects of those plans.
Healthcare and Insurance Industry
Utilisation of Big Data is expected to improve digital healthcare services.
Transportation and Service Industry
At big sport events where large influxes of goods and people are expected, use of Big Data can improve transportation efficiency and services.

Exploring Tips for Japanese Communities through Analysis of Best Practice and Failures of Italian Cases
Learning from the Italian Case
1990年代から地方分権を進めてきたイタリアは、規模、人口動態、産業構造など社会の諸要素が日本と類似しています。法律や行財政制度、政策などの違いと、そこから生まれる成果の比較検証に最適です。また、少子高齢化や人口減少など共通の課題を抱えつつ、日本よりも小規模な地方自治体でイノベーティブな政策が実施され、市民生活やビジネスのQOLを向上しています。その理由を検証するとともに、失敗事例も研究することで、日本の地域コミュニティやビジネスへのヒントを模索しています。
Italy, which has promoted decentralization since the 1990s, has various similarities to Japan in various social aspects including size, demographics, and industrial structure. This is an ideal opportunity to compare the differences in laws, administrative and fiscal systems, and policies, as well as the outcomes which emerge from these differences. Furthermore, while facing common issues such as declining birthrate and aging society, innovative policies are implemented in small local governments, improving quality of life of citizens and businesses. By examining this reasons and failures, I seek ideas for Japanese communities and businesses.

６次産業化を推進する地域や企業に向けて、イタリアの事例に学んだ開拓のヒントを提供します。
Local Government
By learning from best practices and failure cases among Italian communities, which have similar characteristics with those in Japan, will provide unique ideas to improve and renew existing policies.
Tourism Industry
Taking a cue from Italy with its approximately 20,000 agritourism, will propose ways to improve quality of life of both the local community and the users through rediscovering tourism resources in rural areas where the birthrate is declining and the population is aging.
Community & Business
For regions and companies promoting the combination of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, will provide pioneering hints learned from the Italian cases.
